Turkey’s phone code is the telephone country code that is used for phone communications when a call is placed from outside of the country.

Turkey’s country code is +90. The country code is necessary only when dialing a phone number to make a telephone call from another country. International callers who wish to dial a telephone number in Turkey should dial Turkey’s telephone country code (+90) before the national telephone number preceded by area code.

All national phone numbers in Turkey are ten digits long – aaa bbb bbbb, with aaa being the area code followed by the seven digit local phone number. Follow these easy steps to dial a phone number in Turkey using the country code:

Step 1. Enter your country’s exit code on your phone. If you are calling from Europe please enter the 00 (or “+” sign if calling from a mobile device) or 011 if calling from the United States. American callers use the “011” exit code for all international call, including Turkey.

Step 2. Dial 90, Turkey’s country code.

Step 3. Then enter Turkey’s area code. Don’t use the digit “0” when calling from outside of the country.

Step 4. Right after the area code, dial the national phone number you wish to call in Turkey.

If you wish to dial a phone number with these area codes from outside Turkey, you would have to dial first the exit code, then Turkey’s country code 90. 

For example, if you want to dial a phone number in Istanbul, this would be an example of a phone number: +90 212 bbb bbbb or 0090 212 bbb bbbb, and 011 212 bbb bbbb if calling from the United States.

Turkey’s mobile phone numbers are operated by the three largest local mobile phone companies Turkcell, Türk Telekom, Vodafone. The mobile phone numbers in Turkey start with “532”, “533”, “542”, “543”, “544” etc”. Here are the mobile codes:

When dialing a mobile phone number from outside of the country, first you need to dial the exit code (for example, “011” or “+” sign if calling from the United States), then Turkey’s country code “90”, plus the national phone number including the mobile code.

For example, enter 011 90 aaa bbb bbbb or +90 aaa bbb bbbb if calling from the United States.
