All national phone numbers in France are ten digits long – 0a bb bb bbbb, with 0a being the area code followed by the 8 digit local phone number. Always delete the trunk code “0” when calling from overseas. Follow these easy steps to dial a phone number in France using the country code:

Step 1. Enter your country’s exit code on your phone. If you are calling from Europe please enter the 00 (or “+” sign if calling from a mobile device) or 011 if calling from the United States. American callers use the “011” exit code for all international call, including France.

Step 2. Dial 33, France’s country code.

When calling from Europe: 00 33 a bb bb bb bb (or +33 a bb bb bb bb from a mobile device)
